In short
On a paid Individual Growth or Business Growth plan, open Growth tools › Custom domain, enter the domain you own and choose Add Domain. Your dashboard then shows the exact DNS records for that domain. Add them at your domain provider as shown, wait for the checks to pass, then activate the domain. Your nichevio.com address keeps working either way.
Before you start
- A Profile on a paid Individual Growth or Business Growth plan. On other plans the Custom domain area shows On Growth.
- During a Growth trial you can preview the setup and the DNS instructions, but a custom domain cannot go live during a trial.
- A domain you already own and access to its DNS settings at the registrar or DNS provider.
- A subdomain such as www.yourbusiness.com is the standard setup. Connecting a root domain (yourbusiness.com without www) is available only where your dashboard offers it.
- If the domain already runs a website or email, plan to use a subdomain that is not in use, so the existing website and email keep working.
Steps
- Open Growth tools › Custom domainThe screen reads “Point a domain you own at your profile. Your Nichevio link keeps working either way.” Enter the hostname, for example www.yourbusiness.com, in Your Domain and choose Add Domain.
- Copy the records shown in your dashboardThe dashboard lists each record you need, with its type, host and value. Add them at your DNS provider exactly as shown. Records can differ from one domain to another and can be updated, so always use the current instructions in your dashboard rather than values from an article, a screenshot or an earlier email.
- Check before you change existing recordsLook at what is already set for the same host at your provider. If a record there serves another website or your email, do not delete or replace it; use a different subdomain instead. The dashboard warns you before an existing record would need to be replaced.
- Wait for the checkThe status shows Pending while Nichevio checks your domain. How quickly DNS changes become visible depends on your provider and is outside Nichevio’s control, so no time is promised. Use Re-check after you have added the records.
- ActivateWhen the checks pass the status becomes Connected. Choose Activate; the status becomes Active and the page confirms “Your custom domain is live”.
What to expect
- Visitors can open your Profile at your domain and at nichevio.com/yourname.
- The Profile overview’s advanced checklist shows “Custom domain connected”.
- During a trial the setup stays in preview: the domain does not serve your Profile until a paid Growth plan is active and the checks pass again.
- If the Growth plan ends, the domain stops serving your Profile and its settings are kept: “Custom domain is off. Your Growth plan ended, so <domain> stopped serving your profile.” with Upgrade to restore.
Troubleshooting and limitations
Still PendingCompare each record at your provider with the current instructions in your dashboard: type, host and value. Correct any difference, then choose Re-check. If the dashboard reports a conflict, follow its instructions or contact us through the Contact page. Do not remove records your website or email depends on.
I want to use my root domainRoot-domain connection is not available for every domain or provider. If your dashboard does not offer it, connect a subdomain such as www.
I bought a domain through another serviceNichevio does not sell domains. Use the DNS settings at the service you bought it from.
Can I connect two domains?Growth includes one custom domain per Profile. Additional domains are a custom-plan conversation.
The domain works but the nichevio.com link redirectsBoth addresses serve the same Profile. Which one search engines prefer is handled by Nichevio; nothing to configure.
